After driving more than 2,000 miles in the span of a week, D and I have finally resurfaced. We had to make a second trip from C'ville to home and back to move the rest of our stuff. Needless to say, we have way too much stuff and have already made a trip over to Goodwill with several boxes of donation items.
Thanks to both sets of parents, everything is finally in the new house, and nearly everything is unpacked. We have a few more boxes in the basement to unpack, some artwork to hang, etc. But, with the curtains up, it's starting to feel more like home.
D and I have felt like schoolkids off for the summer, since neither of us has had to report to work or school yet. We hope to make a visit to the beach, but D has pre-classes starting soon, so we're trying to finish up the final moving details (new licenses, insurance, etc.).
We're adjusting well to our new neighborhood. It helps that D is familiar with C'ville, having gone to school here before. We've already visited the grocery store, Lowe's, Target and Wal-mart. Lola is adjusting well too. She loves exploring her new back yard, sitting on the deck or taking walks in all the surrounding neighborhoods.
D and I feel good about getting everything accomplished so that we can hit the ground running once classes start. Thanks to everyone for your continued support!
