After surviving a terrible thunderstorm, I picked up D from the airport Friday night. He's in town for the weekend, and it is so great to see him! Lola started barking at him when he walked up to the car at the airport, but then she immediately licked him and smelled him when he got in the car--she's happy her dad is home.
Saturday, I had my running session for training for the women's 4 miler. It was great--ran the whole 1.5 miles no prob. Then, I met my friends for our first golf lesson, and D came to hit balls at the driving range. It has been such a beautiful two days! We napped yesterday, considering we did not make it home from the airport Friday night until 2 a.m. Saturday morning. Then, we went out for burgers and caught up on how D's internship has been going. Sounds like he's just loving it!
We went back home to pick up Lola and took her for a nature walk at a nearby park. The temperature was just perfect, and it wasn't really humid at all. We saw the most beautiful sunset on the drive home.
This morning was Waffle Sunday at our house. Now, we're trying to figure out our calendars for the rest of the summer. Enjoying the last few hours before having to take D back to the airport. At least we have a long weekend together in the City for the 4th holiday.
That's our weekend. Hope yours was just as beautiful.
