After a busy week in NYC and some time in Northern VA traffic driving D back home from his internship, we made it to Atlanta to see A's family. We had an amazing "stay-cation". We got to spend some nice time with A's grandparents, and had some good quality time with Mom and Dad, Sis and brother-in-law, and best of all the beautiful new baby nephew. I cannot describe how much we love our little nephew. He is so precious and sweet, despite having reflux and an aching tummy sometimes. He's now sleeping better at night, so it is an improvement for the proud parents. My sis let me do a little bit of everything, so now I am much more comfy changing diapers, dressing the baby, feeding and burping him, putting him in and out of the car, and swaddling him to sleep. D even played with the baby and got him to fall asleep--D fell asleep too. :) The best part of being aunt and uncle--handing the baby back to his parents when he starts crying.
We returned back to Virginia and went to a dear friend's baby's first birthday party. It was a sort of pre-reunion for welcoming back all the students before the start of school. Then, we went to an offical welcome back cookout at the school, where we also got to meet some of the incoming students. It was a busy Saturday night, as D and I followed up the cookout with dinner out with friends, followed by drinks with other classmates and finally a house party. Whew.
Now, we are halfway through being back at school. D is getting back into the swing of things, getting used to his new schedule of classes. I am very busy at work since all the students are back. It's been fun seeing all our friends and looking forward to great adventures ahead.
