A New Groove

D and I (along with Lola) enjoyed the final weekend before D went "back to school". On Friday night, we had dinner with friends then went to our first b-school party. It was lots of fun, and we already made some new friends. On Saturday, we worked around the house, and nearly everything is finally out of boxes. It feels more like home with the art on the walls and all the clothes unpacked now. Sunday was the most fun--we took a trip on Skyline Drive, which is a gorgeous car ride through the Shenandoah National Forest. (Pictures coming soon.) We only did a portion of the drive, but we bought the annual pass so that we can go back this autumn when all the leaves are changing colors. We had a picnic lunch, then drove by a GORGEOUS vineyard before we made our way home. We are mentally starting a list of all the vineyards to visit soon. So far, we loved the drive by White Hall and Barboursville.

Our wedding anniversary is this week, so we are looking forward to celebrating before D's schedule gets too crazy. This week and next, he's working on his optional pre-matriculation classes as a refresher. Then, he'll officially start school, and I'll start my first day of work.

The house still hasn't sold, but we're hopeful that one more open house will bring our perfect buyer. Otherwise, we may have to enter the world of becoming landlords. Keeping our fingers crossed for a sale instead.

Well, that's the latest update. Hope all is well with our family and friends. We miss everyone and hope you plan a visit to C'ville sometime over the next two years!

Sounds like you're getting settled in just fine. Everyone I've met that knows the C'ville area loves it. Can't wait to come see y'all.
