Hello interwebs! Today I bring you my top ten list. No, this isn't Letterman's comedic countdown. This is a list of the ten things on my mind today in celebration of Baby A's 10 month birthday!!!! Where has the time gone? D and I were looking at her pictures from August the other day, and I literally cannot remember her being so small. She has grown and changed so much, so I am glad we have taken a photo of her EVERY SINGLE DAY so that I can see how she has changed over time. So, on to the countdown for sweet Baby A.
- You are getting really good at crawling. You started inching along army-style at 9 months, and you have gotten good at scooting across the room now. You are even trying to get up off your tummy. I've started babyproofing and cannot take my eyes off you.
- You wish you could walk too. In just the past couple of weeks, you've seemed to figure out what your feet are and what they're for. Now, when you hold our hands, you take steps and can get across the room fairly quickly.
- You are Miss Independent. You feed yourself, hold your own bottle, and have a mind of your own. You already know what you like and what you want to do. You are stubborn, and I'm going to be in big trouble when you can start saying real words.
- Speaking of words, you definitely say mama and dada and know what you are saying. You also seem to say hi. You talk all the time to us and understand "no", "fruit" and "dog", though you probably also understand more than that. And, of course, you know your name.
- You love Lola. You jut want to crawl over to her and pet her and pull on her all the time. Lola isn't too sure about you. She kisses you and wants to play but doesn't understand that you are still a little baby.
- Except, you aren't so little anymore. You are in the 94th percentile for height. You have long outgrown most of your 9 month clothes and are in 12 month outfits.
- You are still my quiet observer. You are always watching, checking out new faces and places. But you are also generous with your sweet smile. Everyone remarks about what a sweet, pretty, happy baby you are.
- You are a sound sleeper, but an early riser. With the time change, you were waking up at 7:30, but you have returned to your old habit of waking before 6:30. Sigh. You can sleep through just about anything as long as you are in your room. Subway construction blasts, building masonry repair, NYC traffic and more. But, you just don't sleep in your stroller anymore--there's too much to look at now.
- You still chew on everything. No matter what it is, if you find it, you're chomping down on it. You have the 8 front teeth and have been working on the molars and the rest for the past couple of months. Close, but they're not through yet.
- You are pulling up and opening up. You tried to pull up in your crib, so I've taken the bumper out. We'll be lowering the crib soon. You also try to pull up on the couch, your bouncer, the chair, anything you can grab. You have figured out how to open the tv stand drawers, and I know the doors are next. You also tug--on the computer cable, on Lola's ears, and, most of all, on our hearts. We love you Baby A. Happy 10 months. Your first year will be here so soon.
