We had planned to meet a friend and her family at the bus stop at around 9:30 to catch the 9:44 bus. Even though the baby got us up at 6:40, somehow we still managed to find ourselves running behind. We got out the door, and walked as fast as we could (though that was slower than usual, since the hubby has an injured foot). We picked up the pace and started jogging, once we saw the bus was a smidge early and already at the stop. When we were but two blocks away from the bus stop, I could see the bus starting to pull away from the stop. The next bus wouldn't come for another hour, and this was an express bus, so it didn't stop again until 30 blocks north.
Well, long story short, I made for a sight yesterday morning. While running down the street pushing the baby stroller, the diaper bag fell out of the bottom stroller basket. I tripped over the bag, and that was all she wrote. Down I went, and down went the stroller. There were a couple of people out, but it was early on a Sunday morning, so there wasn't a huge crowd (thank goodness!). I jumped up and grabbed the diaper bag while the hubby checked on the baby and got the stroller (baby girl was totally fine, so no worries there!). We picked up where we left off and flagged down the bus. What a start for our "trip" to the zoo.
At any rate, it was such an easy ride to the zoo and so much fun. We didn't get to see everything, but we will definitely be going back. Here are a couple of photos from the visit.
The giraffes were so graceful (and tall!!).
The zebras were stunning with their stripes.
