A New York kind of day

What a lovely Saturday. The whole family--doggie too--took a morning walk in Central Park after breakfast. The temperature was cool, and it wasn't muggy yet. It really felt like fall was in the air. After we returned home, Baby Girl took her nap while we got showered and ready to go back out. We had lunch al fresco at a nearby restaurant, which happened to give us front row seats to the Third Avenue Street Fair. We returned home, placed our online grocery order (only in New York!), and tried to get the baby to take her afternoon nap (she declined.). So, we headed out yet again and actually took part in the Street Fair. We even bought a precious smocked dress for the little one's Christmas photos for a steal at only $15! There was a parade along Fifth Avenue, but we missed it. Nevertheless, we made a couple of stops at some stores to finish up our errands. Next up, college football.

We had a productive day, and, despite some traffic on Second Avenue, there was no evidence of any rumored terror threat. It was nice to see that life goes on, especially in anticipation for what will be an emotional day tomorrow. Hope all our family and friends had just as enjoyable a day!
